The wavy shaped swimming pool, which looks like an extension of the sea, is filled with salt water. Burgau and luz beaches are just 1.5 km away. At these beaches you can enjoy several activities, such as snorkelling and kite-surfing. Alternatively you can take a relaxing bike ride to the picturesque villages of luz and burgau. Bikes are available to hire from the hotel. As the resort is integrated in the sudoeste alentejano and costa vicentina natural park, you can identify countless rare plants.

The graceful restaurant 'l escargot' offer a wide choice of international and mediterranean dishes. There is also a snack bar by the swimming pool where one can grab a sandwich and drinks while enjoying the sun and cool water. Furthermore there is a grocery shop called 'a mercearia da avo' aka nana's groceries where all day to day products can be bought.

Going out from faro airport, take the highway a22, also called "via do infante" till its end at the exit "vila do bispo/lagos". You'll then find yourself on the en125. Go direction sagres and on the second traffic lights, at the village of espiche, turn left towards the village of praia da luz. On the initial roundabout turn right(direction burgau) and drive for 2 kms. Porto dona maria will be on your left side.
