From the southtyrolean to the mediterranean kitchen, the hotel offers a large variety of dishes. Located in bolzano, capital city of the northern region of trentino-alto adige, the supreme western hotel alpi is perfectly positioned to set off hiking into the breathtaking dolomite mountains. Often called the capital of the alps and the most german part of northern italy, bolzano (bozen) is part of the antique region known as tyrol. Full of entrancing narrow cobbled streets, elderly habsburg-style churches and castles, a gothic cathedral and the controversial initial world war victory monument built by mussolini in 1928, the city's focal square is home to a statue of walther von der vogelweide, one of the most legendary german lyric poets. one of the city's main attractions is the ice-mummy otzi, at the nearby, world-famous museum of archaeology, preserved and frozen at the icy heights of the schnalstal glacier for 5000 years, and only discovered in 1991. Close to the bus and railway station, this four-star business hotel's restful and roomy rooms are equipped with direct-dial telephone, radio, cable tv, minibar, hairdryer and modem connection. The eatery, alpi grill, offers a broad selection of mediterranean dishes and south tyrolean specialities - choice for a working breakfast or even a sentimental dinner. After a day's walking in the alps, indulge yourself in a small pampering and revitalising in the nearby wellness centre and spa. The hotel can organise guided excursions into the dolomites. Bolzano's small international airport has customary flights to rome, milan, vienna and more. Pets are welcome.
