| General Description: |
Seven is located next to the 11th centuary church of st mary and our summer terrace overlooks the churchyard, the choice place to spend a sunshiny afternoon. Our newly refurbished cafe/bar is a cosy place to spend some time, and our menu caters for all tastes, from a relaxing drink to a 3 course meal. We have four refurbished ensuite bed and breakfast rooms, choice for a relaxing break. Each has a seperate decor theme and are all named after flowers. Camillia, rose, orchid and bluebell. Brighstone villiage lies on the sunshiny side of the chalk downs that march east-west across the centre of the island. The 10th century church of st mary the virgin has the surprising distinction of having had three rectors who have become bishops, the most famousbeing samuel wilberforce son of the anti-slavery campainer william wilberforce. Brighstone is also within walking distance of the jurassic coast, legendary for unique dinosar remains which can still be found in the cliffs. Indeed a superb example of an iguanadon cast has for numerous years lived near our kitchen door.Seven is an ideal place to stay for anyone contemplating a fossil hunting holiday. The west wight coast is also famed for its surfing beaches, and the relatively new sport of kite surfing. Hang gliding has long been a popular local amusement, and lessons are obtainable locally. spiffing walks and cycle routes surround the villiage offering great views to the sea and countryside to the north. Although not strictly an hotel, seven has the benefits of having a licenced bar open all day, serving draught and bottled beers, wines and spirits as well as freshly ground coffee and cream teas in season. Fresh local produce and island produced meat and game is our speciality.
