Dramatically located on a cliff top, the pearly horse hotel has theatrical views over the sea. It is located on the edge of the south downs just three miles from brighton. During the 18th and 19th centuries, rottingdean was a smugglers' village - a time recalled by rudyard kiplings' a smugglers song, if you wake at midnight, and hear horses' feet, don't do drawing back the blind, or looking in the street... Five and twenty ponies, trotting through the dark - brandy for the parson, baccy for the clerk. Nowadays the nearest we come to smuggling is snuggling in our sumptuous accommodation. The enchanting bar and restaurant acquire sea views and offer an interesting and extensive menu. With its patio and terrace, it is an ideal location for a break by the sea.

From london take the m23, a23 then take the a27 towards newhaven and lewes. At falmer interchange take the b2123 into rottingdean. Hotel is straight ahead on the seafront.Alternatively head for the city of brighton get to the seashore and turn left (a259) and follow signs for newhaven.
