After a complete reconstruction, the golden star hotel has now reopened its antique gate to a hotel of antique beauty right moments from prague castle in the center of the city . The initial written notes of the hotel date back to 1372 when it was owned by the mayor of hradcany. During the next centuries the dwelling changed its owners numerous times. Among then we can find czech kings´servants, members of dissimilar religious orders and numerous essential prague burghers. In 1723-32, when owned by the official of czech royal chamber baltazar knapp, the dwelling saw a methodical and expensive reconstruction that put it in the today´s shape. The recently finished recontruction preserved the original architectural elements and finished them carefully with luxury facilities of modern way of life. Just next to the elevator you can find a 270 year elderly staircase, you can see the original ornamental plastering of the ceiling, but also the most modern bathroom. The period wooden furniture is in choice accordance with the antique ambience of the hotel, but at the same time it is treated with the latest wax technique, without ecologically detrimental varnish. As you would expect from such a antique building, all the guests rooms at the golden star hotel enjoy a mix of both modern comfort and elderly world charm. The facrics and funiture all add to the character of the rooms with each one being a slightly dissimilar shape and size from the last.
