General Description:	The grims dyke hotel is a carefully restored country residence set in over 40 acres of gorgeous gardens and woodlands. A world away from the tumult that is london, yet only twelve miles from the shining lights of the west end, and just eight miles from heathrow airport. The hotel is easily accessible as it is situated close to junction 5 of the m1. This wonderful victorian building is the former residence of sir william gilbert, the writing half of the gilbert and sullivan partnership. The beauty of this historic country residence against the backdrop of the luxuriant and peaceful gardens and woodlands that surround it invent an oasis. Dining:	Through the great panelled doors off the imposing entrance hall find the library bar. This was the library where gilbert wrote some of his most well known works, and also where he created his last two operettas in collaboration with sullivan. A immense fireplace once stood in place of the bar, which still features the copper surround gilbert had installed. This restful room looks out onto the croquet lawn, terrace and gardens. Surrounding grim's dyke hotel is one of its most showy features, the grounds, an appealing mix of wild woodland and official gardens. Close by find a croquet lawn along with the kitchen gardens, beehives and victorian greenhouses that supply the restaurant. If you venture further into the woods will find the now vacant boating lake, fringed with azaleas.

Turn right at the roundabout and cross into elderly redding at the traffic lights.From heathrow take the m4 west to the m25. Follow the m25 north to junction 19 (watford). Follow the a41 and a409. Turn right into elderly redding at the second set of traffic lights.From the m1, exit at junction 5 (harrow) and follow the a41 and a409guests without cars should take underground trains to either stanmore (jubilee line) or harrow on the hill (metropolitan line), and then take a taxi.
